Derelict Vessel Removal and Disposal

Safeguarding Marine Environments by Safely Removing Derelict Vessels and Hazardous Debris

In Washington State, derelict vessels pose significant environmental hazards, blocking shipping routes, damaging marine ecosystems, and creating safety risks for other water users. The State of Washington tasked Enviro-Tech Diving with the safe removal and disposal of a derelict vessel that had been abandoned in a critical waterway.

Enviro-Tech Diving’s team specializes in marine salvage and casualty response, offering comprehensive services for the removal of sunken or abandoned vessels. Our skilled divers and marine equipment were deployed to remove the derelict vessel, ensuring that all operations were carried out in full compliance with environmental regulations. We used a combination of cutting-edge tools and techniques, including underwater cutting and lifting, to carefully extract the vessel without further disrupting the surrounding area.

In addition to removing the vessel, we also performed a thorough inspection of the site to ensure that there was no hazardous debris left behind. We carefully disposed of any pollutants or hazardous materials, including oil, fuel, and debris, following best practices for environmental safety.

The safe disposal of the derelict vessel allowed the State of Washington to restore a vital waterway, preventing future environmental damage and ensuring safer navigation for other vessels. The entire operation was completed swiftly, minimizing impact on the local ecosystem and following all state and federal environmental regulations.
