Utilizing ROV Technology to Conduct Detailed Environmental Surveys
In Akutan, Alaska, a fish processing plant required an extensive environmental seafloor survey to evaluate the potential impact of their operations on the local marine ecosystem. The task was too complex for traditional diving operations due to the depth and conditions of the area, making ROV technology the ideal solution.
Enviro-Tech Diving deployed an ROV equipped with HD cameras and other advanced sensors to conduct a detailed survey of the seafloor. The ROV captured high-quality video footage, seafloor samples, and GPS-tagged data, all of which were critical for assessing the environmental impact of the plant’s discharge lines.
The data gathered was compiled into a comprehensive environmental report, which included mapping, photos, and recommendations. This report provided valuable insights into the health of the marine environment surrounding the plant, helping them maintain regulatory compliance.
